How this policy applies
We sell written copywriting services and two productised deliverables — not appointments, bookings, or physical goods. This policy sets out your rights to cancel, withdraw from, or get a refund on an order, under Czech consumer law and the terms stated on the package you bought. It applies alongside, and where relevant takes precedence over, the general Terms of Service.
Where this English version and the Czech version (Reklamační řád) could be read as differing in meaning, the Czech version prevails for customers resident in the Czech Republic.
Before we start: your 14-day withdrawal right
If you're ordering as a consumer (not for your trade, business, or profession), Czech law gives you the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of placing your order, without giving a reason, under §1829 of the Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Sb.). To exercise this right, tell us in writing — an email to support@seo-copywriter.com with your order number is enough; you don't need to use a specific form.
If you withdraw before we've started work on your order, you receive a full refund of what you paid for that order, with no deduction.
Consenting to start work early, and what that changes
Because copywriting is a fully digital service, most buyers want work to start immediately rather than wait out the full 14 days. At checkout step 5, before you place a consumer order, you're asked to expressly confirm that you want work to begin before the withdrawal period ends, and that you understand what that means for your withdrawal right. This isn't a hidden term buried in small print — it's a checkbox you actively tick, and the order can't be placed without it.
Under §1837(a) of the Civil Code, once a service has been fully performed within the 14-day period, with your prior express consent to that early start and your acknowledgment that you'd lose the right to withdraw once performance was complete, the withdrawal right no longer applies to that order. In practice: if your package is fully delivered (final draft sent, including any revision rounds you've used) before the 14 days are up, and you gave that consent at checkout, you can no longer withdraw and get a refund for it — you got what you ordered, delivered as agreed.
Withdrawing after work has started but before it's finished
If you withdraw after work has started but before your package is fully delivered, §1834 of the Civil Code applies: you're entitled to a refund of the price, minus a proportionate amount for whatever part of the work had genuinely been carried out up to the point you told us you were withdrawing. We calculate that proportion based on the stage the deliverable had reached (for example: brief confirmed and research done but no draft yet, versus a full first draft already delivered) and show you the calculation when we confirm your withdrawal.
Business orders
If you're ordering as a business (confirmed by the business-order checkbox at checkout step 5, keyed to whether a VAT ID was entered at the billing step), the statutory 14-day consumer withdrawal right described in §2–4 above does not apply to your order. Cancellation of a business order is handled under §6–7 below and the general Terms of Service, not the consumer withdrawal provisions.
Cancelling a monthly or retainer package
Growth, Authority, Editorial Retainer, and Embedded Writer are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle you've already paid for — you keep everything delivered in that cycle, and nothing further is billed afterward. We don't refund the current cycle once work in it has started, consumer or business order alike, except where §2–4 above give you a statutory right to do so on a first cycle you're still within the 14-day withdrawal window for and haven't consented to an early start on, or have only had partially performed.
Cancelling a one-off package
For a one-off package (a Single Article, a Landing Page, a Keyword Map, and so on) or one of the two productised items:
- Before we start work: full refund, on request, at any time.
- After we start but before delivery, consumer order, no early-start consent given: your §2–4 withdrawal rights apply as described above.
- After we start but before delivery, consumer order, early-start consent given, or any business order: we refund the proportion of the package price not yet delivered, calculated the same way as §4, as a matter of policy even though it isn't a statutory requirement outside the consumer-withdrawal case — we don't keep payment for work we haven't done.
- After full delivery: the package has been fully performed; see §8 for what to do if the delivered work doesn't match your brief, rather than a refund route.
If the work doesn't match your brief
If a delivered draft substantially fails to meet the brief you gave us, your first step is a revision request within your package's included rounds (or the Extra revision round add-on), per the Terms of Service §7 — most brief mismatches are a revision-round problem, not a refund problem, and we'd rather fix it than refund it. If, after using the revision process in good faith, we genuinely can't bring the work into line with the agreed brief, you're entitled to a proportionate reduction in price, or to withdraw from that specific order and receive a refund, under the defective-performance provisions of the Civil Code (§1914 et seq.). This is a judgment call made honestly on the specific brief and draft in question — email us and we'll work it through with you.
Payment errors
If you're charged the wrong amount, charged twice, or a payment fails but you're shown as charged, tell us immediately at support@seo-copywriter.com with your order reference — this is corrected as a straightforward billing fix, not a withdrawal or dispute process.
How to request a refund or withdrawal
Email support@seo-copywriter.com with your order reference (format SC-YYYYMMDD-XXXX, shown on your order confirmation) and a short line on what you're requesting and why. We confirm receipt and next steps within one business day.
How and when refunds are paid
Refunds are paid using the same payment method you used to order, unless we agree another method with you. Where a refund is due under your statutory withdrawal right (§2–4), it's paid within 14 days of the day you told us you were withdrawing, in line with Czech consumer-protection law. Refunds under §7–8 that aren't statutory withdrawals are paid within the same 14-day window as a matter of policy.
Dispute resolution
If we can't resolve a refund or cancellation issue directly, a consumer may bring it to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, ČOI), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, coi.cz. (The EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform was shut down on 20 July 2025; ČOI is the route to use.) This is in addition to, not instead of, your right to bring a claim before the competent Czech courts.
